Did You Know that Houston just passed a bill that requires gold-buying businesses to photograph and fingerprint those bringing in gold to sell, photograph the items being sold and maintain an online database of the transactions. Those selling precious metals in Houston are now considered criminals until they prove otherwise. The ordinance was passed in response to an increase in the monetary losses that reached $10,000 in jewelry in 4,800 burglaries from July 2010 to June 2011. What else could we expect as a nation from a government that has to do something with all their employees so more regulations are imposed on everyone?  We’ve gone way beyond what our Founding Fathers envisioned for this nation.

The honest person follows the laws requiring gun owners to register their guns or get permits. Laws like this affect only those who are willing to follow the law. Criminals will find other ways to dispose of their stolen gold and silver. The only people who will submit to photography and fingerprinting are those who are selling their own gold and many will most likely go outside the city in order to conduct their business in private. Sounds like a death knell to Houston’s gold dealers and an increased cost of doing business certainly to spur gold sales into a black market.

This ordinance is typical of the ignorance of the political class, which always attacks the rights of the innocent rather than addressing the criminal element and working to reduce the number of burglaries.

Now comes more lunacy from Chicago, Illinois, a state whose own police superintendent has threatened to shoot legal gun owners while his city leads the nation in homicides.  Chicago, as always, has been a city run by the criminal element and today that element is in positions of power to continue their reign. Chicago is the home of Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson Jr. and Sr., Rod Blagojevich and many others.  There are so many this space won’t allow me to name them all.

Illinois currently imposed the most restrictive gun laws in the Nation while also succeeding in attaining the worst homicide, murder and assault rates in the nations.  Now comes but new laws requiring registration for sellers and buyers of gold.

Precious Metal Purchasing Act:   Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metals shall obtain a proof of ownership, create a record of the sale, and verify the identity of the seller. Provides that a person who is in the business of purchasing precious metal shall not pay for the precious metal in cash and shall record the method of payment.  Requires the purchaser to keep a record of the sale for one year or, if the purchase amount is over $500, for 5 years.  Provides that a person who violates the Act is guilty of a petty offense and subject to a fine not exceeding $500.  Provides that the Attorney General may inspect records, investigate an alleged violation and take action to collect civil penalties.

Remember I told you that last year in France the public can no longer purchase physical gold with cash.  Gold may only be purchased using credit cards so the government can track who is purchasing it. This is driving the sales of gold and silver illegally across the border to Belgium.

The elites hate that their gold, which they see as theirs and intend to steal before you can convert it outside of their fiat currency, may be hidden from their hands. This should only demonstrate the growing recognition that the facade of government finance is collapsing around us. Elites say gold isn’t money. Meanwhile, central banks around the world are snapping up gold as fast as they can transport it.  Other nations are trying to get their gold out of the United States and back home.  It appears that the regime is laying the groundwork for gold registration a little at a time. It’s all about gradualism, as I have warned you before. I fear, it won’t be long now before, the Federal government copies and enacts legislation in the nation requiring the exact same measures.  Protect your family before it’s too late! Tomorrow may be too late.
